Our Vision and Mission
Lexington PreK-8 School Counseling Department will empower all students to strive for and achieve academic excellence, social emotional growth, and obtain college and career readiness. All students will have access to a quality comprehensive school counseling program that equips students with skills in order to thrive in the 21st century and become contributing members of society.
The Lexington TK- 8 Elementary School Counseling Department in collaboration with school staff, parents and stakeholders develops and implements a comprehensive school counseling program geared towards the academic achievement, social-emotional growth and development, and college& career readiness for all students. The school’s counseling program supports all students in becoming lifelong learners, developing the proper skills, and reaching their full potential by excelling academically and pursuing post-secondary preparation. This can be achieved by cultivating a positive school climate that provides equitable opportunities for all students.

- Education and academic progress is a responsibility shared by students, parents, staff, and community and is based on an atmosphere of mutual respect and collaboration
- The American School Counselor Association ethical standards should guide the work of the School Counseling Program and School Counselor.
